Author Guidelines

  1. JI-KES (Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan) accepts research articles from the health sector, which includes the fields of science, nursing, midwifery, public health, nutrition, pharmacy, and others, that have not been published or are currently under consideration by other journals.
  2. To be considered for publication, manuscripts should be between 7 to 15 pages long, typed using Microsoft Office Word, Times New Roman 12 pts, single-spaced on quarto or A4-size paper with margin 2.54 for each side.
  3. The article is written in Bahasa Indonesia or English language.
  4. The article should contain: (a) Title; (b) Full name of author(s) without title(s); (c) Affiliation, (d) Corresponding email, (e) Abstract (max. 200 words); (f) Keywords; (g) Introduction; (h) Method; (i) Findings and Discussion; (j) Conclusions and Suggestions; and (k) References.
  5. The title in Bahasa Indonesia should not be more than 12 words and not more than 10 words for English title. It is written in 12 pts Capital, Bold, Center.
  6. Abstract is written in two languages (Bahasa Indonesia and English language) that contains no more than 200 words and 3-5 keywords. It is written in a single-spaced paragraph using Times New Roman 11 pts that covers main issues, purpose, method, result, and summary.
  7. Introduction is presented in paragraphs, consisting of 15-20% of the total length of the article, containing issues or problems, urgency, rationalization of research activities, problem-solving plans, relevant literature review and hypothesis development (if any) from previous research and literature review as supporting research concepts that include empirical evidence. This section ends with research objectives in the last paragraph.
  8. Research methods are presented in the form of paragraphs, consisting of 15-20% of the total length of the article, explaining the design of activities, scope or object, main materials and tools, the location and time of research, data collection techniques, operational definitions of research variables, analysis techniques and the information of passing ethical test or ethical review by stating the ethics number.
  9. Results and discussion section is presented in paragraph form, consisting of ≥ 60% of the total length of the article, presenting research findings that can be supplemented with tables, graphs (images), and/or charts. The discussion section describes the results of data processing, provides a logical interpretation of the findings, and relates to relevant reference sources. To aid reading and comprehension, the research findings are first described, followed by the discussion section. The results and discussion subheadings are presented separately.
  10. The discussion is intended to interpret the research findings in accordance with the theory used, not simply to explain the findings. The discussion should be enriched by referring previous studies that have been published in scientific journals.
  11. The results can be displayed as numerical tables, graphs, verbal descriptions, or a combination of the three. Tables, graphs, and figures should not be excessively long, large, or numerous. Writers should employ a variety of presentation tools such as tables, graphs, and verbal descriptions. Tables and graphs should be referred to in the text.
  12. The table description or explanation is written at the top of the table, centered. Table numbers 1,2,3 and so on are included in the table explanation. Tables are presented without vertical (upright) or horizontal (horizontal) lines. Table lines are only found at the head and tail of the table. The table content uses Times New Roman 10.
  13. The data presentation tools, such as diagrams, graphic images, photos, etc., should be in the JPG extension. The image position is center and title position is bottom center.
  14. Conclusions and suggestions section contains research findings in the form of answers to research questions or a summary of the discussion results, as well as comments or rebuttals that are suggestions for the government, agencies, and other researchers for future research development. Conclusions and suggestions are presented in the form of paragraph.
  15. If necessary, acknowledgment can be given to 1) parties who provide financial assistance and support, 2) support from departments and institutions, and 3) professionals who contributed to the preparation of the report.
  16. Bibliography only contains sources mentioned in the article. primary references (research articles in scientific journals, research reports or proceeding, master's theses and dissertations) are found in the literature published during the last five years. Citations and references are required to follow the most recent version of the American Psychological Association (APA) and include at least 20 references that is written with reference programs like Mendeley, Zotero, or End Note.
