Pencegahan dan penanggulangan bencana tidak hanya tanggung jawab petugas terkait namun masyarakat juga harus tahu, mau dan mampu dalam pencegahan dan penanggulangan bencana. Meningkatkan pengetahuan, kesadaran, dan kemampuan masyarakat dalam pencegahan dan penanggulangan dampak bencana dapat meningkatkan respon masyarakat terhadap bencana. Untuk meningkatkan respon, maka pelatihan pertolongan pertama (first aid training) harus diajarkan kepada individu, kelompok dan masyarakat. Remaja desa adalah faktor penting dan berpotensi untuk menjadi untuk penyelamat nyawa dalam situasi darurat dengan memberikan pertolongan pertama. Tujuan dari pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk membentuk remaja desa siap siaga bencana di Desa Andungbiru Kecamatan Tiris Kabupaten Probolinggo. Pelatihan diberikan kepada 16 anak remaja selama 4 minggu. Pelatihan dilakukan dengan memberikan materi dan simulasi serta demonstrasi peserta. Selain itu setting di tempat menyenangkan dengan suasana seperti camping membuat peserta tidak bosan. Hasil dari kegiatan yang dilakukan bahwa tedapat peningkatan pengetahuan kader dari 24% menjadi 76% dan peningkatan keterampilan dari 13% menjadi 87% terkait pertolongan pertama pada korban bencana. Evaluasi akhir keberhasilan pelatihan ini adalah tim pelaksana mampu menyiapkan peer education yang baik untuk masyarakat sekitar terutama remaja

Abstract

Disaster prevention and management is not only the responsibility of related officers but the community must also know, be willing and able to prevent and manage disasters. Increasing the knowledge, awareness and capacity of the community in preventing and overcoming the impact of disasters can increase community response to disasters. To increase response, first aid training must be taught to individuals, groups and communities. Village youth is an important factor and has the potential to save lives in emergency situations by providing first aid. The aim of this community service implementation is to form village youth who are ready for disaster. Training was given to 16 teenagers for 4 weeks. Training was carried out by providing materials and simulations as well as participant simulations. In addition, the setting in a pleasant place with a camping-like atmosphere made the participants not get bored. The results of the activities carried out were that the knowledge of cadres from 24% to 76% and an increase in skills from 13% to 87% related to first aid for disaster victims. The final evaluation of the success of this training is that the implementation team is able to prepare good peer education for the surrounding community, especially teenagers
